Hand-built terracotta water vessels were integral to the culture of Mossi people where water is a valuable resource. During the dry seasons, which last almost eight months of the year, dry Harmattan wind from the Sahara blows over the region. These rare vessels are also prized for their spherical design and evenly spaced spikes.
